Find My Fit College is a free, non-commercial personal project. It is not run by or affiliated with any school, college, testing company, or Common App. It is intended for students age 13 and older. If you are under 13, please do not create an account.

What you can do without giving us anything

Accounts are optional. The Interest Survey, profile, college matching, and downloads all run inside your web browser. If you do not create an account, none of your answers, scores, or college list are sent to us or anyone else. (Cloudflare Web Analytics still counts the page visit, without cookies and without identifying you; see "How it is used" below.) "Save on this device" stores your progress only in your own browser's local storage, and you can delete it at any time with "Delete saved progress".

Climb My ACT works the same way: without an account, your ACT practice progress stays in your browser's local storage (turn this off or clear it on its Progress tab). If you click "Use ACT __ in my college matches", that score is copied into this browser's local storage for the college profile. It goes to your account only if you are signed in and save your progress there.

Climb My SAT (the SAT practice section at /sat/) works the same way: without an account, your SAT practice progress (answers and whether each was right, diagnostic results, Bluebook practice scores you type in, an official score if you enter one, and study-plan settings) stays in your browser's local storage under the key satprep.v1. You can turn this off or clear it on its Progress & plan tab. If you click "Use SAT __ in my college matches", that score is copied into this browser's local storage for the college profile. It goes to your account only if you are signed in and save your progress there.

The Resume builder (at /resume/) works the same way: without an account, what you type into your resume stays in your browser's local storage under the key fmf.resume.v1. On a shared or school computer, use "Clear from this device" on its last step when you are done. The PDF and Word (.docx) downloads are made inside your browser; your resume is not sent anywhere to create them.

The Grade-by-grade checklist (at /checklist/) saves your check marks only in this browser's local storage, even if you are signed in. They are not saved to your account and counselors cannot see them. If you are signed in and your profile has a graduation year, the checklist uses it to open your current grade.

What we collect if you create an optional account

Signing in saves your progress to your account so you can use it on any device. Here is what that includes:

We do not ask for your street address, birthday, or any government ID. The Resume builder has optional spots for an email, a phone number and a city and state, because those usually go on a resume; leave them blank if you prefer. Please do not type other personal details into the tool.

Sharing with your school counselor (only if you turn it on)

Sharing is off unless you turn it on with "Share with my school counselor" on the My account tab and enter your school's code. You can stop sharing at any time with one click, and it stops right away.

While sharing is on, school counselors at that school whose school email we have verified can see, read-only: your name, graduation year and current grade, gender (if you gave one), the date you started sharing, your Interest Survey results, your saved colleges and saved scholarships, and your Climb My ACT and Climb My SAT progress (practice totals, diagnostic results, practice test scores you entered, any official score you entered, and your planned test date). They see your college work as of the last time you saved it to your account.

If you made a resume in the Resume builder while signed in, counselors at that school can also see it, read-only, exactly as it would print, including any email, phone number or city you put on it. This is on unless you uncheck "Share my resume with my counselor" on the Resume builder page; you can keep your resume private and still share everything else.

Counselors cannot see your account email addresses, password, the GPA in your college profile, scholarship profile details (such as county or the optional tags), or anything if you stop sharing, and they cannot change anything in your account. A counselor at your school can mark you as "No longer at our school", which turns off sharing with that school only; your account and saved work stay with you, and you'll see a note so you can add a new school's code.

Counselor accounts: a counselor gives us their school email address, a password, and their school's ACT code, name, city, state, and website, so we can verify that they work there. That information is used only for verification and to show them students who chose to share. If you share with your school's counselor, each verified counselor at your school gets one email a day at about 5 PM Central listing new students who started sharing (name, graduation year and grade only; a student a counselor has claimed is listed only for that counselor). These emails are sent through our email provider, Resend.

How it is used

Only to let you sign in and pick up where you left off. We do not sell or rent your information, do not share it with anyone except the school counselors you choose to share with (see above), do not use it for advertising, and do not show ads. There are no tracking cookies. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page visits without cookies and without identifying you, so we can see which pages are helpful.

Where it is stored

Account data is stored with our database and login provider, Supabase, in a table protected by row-level security so that each signed-in student can read only their own saved progress. Verified counselors never get direct access to these tables; they can only see the limited, read-only summary described above, and only for students who chose to share with their school. Supabase processes the data on our behalf to provide the service. Site emails (like counselor email confirmations and the daily counselor email) are sent through Resend, which receives only the counselor's email address and the email's contents.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account and all saved progress yourself at any time with "Delete my account and data" on the My account tab (on the main site, in Climb My ACT, or in Climb My SAT; any one deletes everything for all three, including your profile, your resume, and anything shared with a counselor). The Resume builder's "Start over" button also erases your resume. Counselors can also delete their account the same way. Climb My ACT and Climb My SAT also let you delete only your ACT or SAT practice data. Deletion is permanent. You can also ask us to delete it by contacting the site owner at the contact below.

Data from other sources

College information comes from the U.S. Department of Education's College Scorecard. Interest items come from the O*NET Interest Profiler Short Form (U.S. Department of Labor). Climb My ACT's and Climb My SAT's practice questions are original; links to act.org, College Board, Bluebook, and Khan Academy go to those sites. Links to colleges, Federal Student Aid, CareerOneStop, and other sites take you to those sites, which have their own privacy policies.

Donations and sponsors

Find My Fit College is supported by donations and sponsors only. There are no paid tiers, ads, or affiliate links. Sponsors appear as a logo and link and never receive any student information. Sponsors have no effect on college matches or ACT practice. If you choose to donate, you do so on the donation provider's own website (for example Ko-fi or Buy Me a Coffee), under that provider's privacy policy; this site does not see your payment details.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the date above will change. Questions or deletion requests: [contact email coming soon].
